Agave Syrup

Agave Syrup is a sweet syrup made from the sap of agave plants, traditionally produced in Mexico and commonly used as a liquid sweetener or sugar substitute in beverages and baking. It is a concentrated sugar source, providing about 68g of sugar per 100g, and contains very little protein, fiber or fat. Nutritionally it offers few micronutrients and is best used sparingly—while sometimes chosen for its mild flavor and browning properties in recipes, it should be considered a caloric sweetener rather than a significant source of nutrients.
