Coarse Salt

Coarse Salt is unrefined, coarse crystals of sea salt commonly used in cooking, finishing dishes, and in many regional cuisines (including Korean and Mediterranean) for its crunchy texture and clean saline flavor. It contains 100g of salt per 100g and provides virtually no calories, protein, fat or fiber, though different sea salts may contain trace minerals and smoked varieties add a distinctive aroma. Because it is almost pure sodium chloride, it should be used sparingly as a source of sodium in the diet; consider lower‑sodium substitutes or flavoring with herbs when trying to reduce sodium intake.
