Plant-Based Mozzarella is a vegan alternative to fresh mozzarella commonly made from soy or nut bases and used where a mild, meltable cheese is desired — for example on pizzas, sandwiches and hot dishes. It can be fortified and often provides around 380mg of calcium per 100g. Compared with dairy mozzarella it typically has very little natural protein and fiber, and many commercial varieties are relatively high in saturated fat and salt, so choose lower-fat, lower-sodium formulations or make a homemade version if you want to limit those components.
