Powdered (Defatted) Peanut Butter is a shelf-stable, concentrated peanut product made by pressing most of the oil out of roasted peanuts and milling the remaining solids into a powder; it’s commonly used in smoothies, baking, sauces and to reconstitute into a lower-fat spread. Powdered peanut butter is prized for delivering peanut flavor with less oil and a lighter texture than traditional peanut butter. Nutrition-wise, Powdered (Defatted) Peanut Butter is notable as a high-protein plant food, providing about 52g of protein per 100 g, making it useful for boosting protein in shakes, oatmeal or recipes without adding a lot of fat. It also retains peanut fiber and some B-vitamins and minerals from the peanuts. Compared with regular peanut butter, this form offers much of the same protein and micronutrient benefits while being substantially lower in fat, and it supplies useful amounts of niacin, manganese and copper; it is not a significant source of polyphenol antioxidants compared with whole, oil-containing peanut products.
